At 1199SEIU, a labor union that represents healthcare workers across Massachusetts, I worked on a broad range of political and new organizing campaigns, assisting with strategy, photography, design, writing and editing; executing both internal and external communications — including email, text blasts, newsletters, and ads for print, radio, and social media. I also coordinated with coalition partners on strategic planning for statewide and national campaigns such as #WageAction and the Fight for $15.
Graphic Design • Staff Training: Designed the logo for the Building A Movement (BAM) staff training program and collaborated with other staff to develop a staff survey and interview process to guide the planning and curriculum. The goal of the program was to facilitate cross-departmental work and connect to social movements for economic, racial, gender and LBGTQ equity.
Photography: Regularly photographed events for use in email, social media and print materials. Took updated head shots for staff and delegates as part of an organization-wide website overhaul.
Writing • Research • Graphic Design: Created educational resources for members of 1199 on the upcoming changes to the Massachusetts Medicaid program — working with political and research staff to build accessible, accurate materials to break down a complex policy changes.
